Talavera Pottery

Talavera is an iconic and traditional Mexican technique dating back to the 16^th century. Only natural clays are used, rather than chemically treated and dyed clays and the handcrafting process takes three to four months. This lengthy process is inherently risky because the piece could break at any point during production, making Talavera more costly than many other types of pottery. As a result, Mexican Talavera artisans have been under pressure from imitations, commonly from China. All our authentic Talavera pottery is entirely handcrafted and hand painted in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico. We offer a wide range of sizes, styles and designs.
