Replacement key service — from $280 + GST
The base service includes:
Final pricing depends on your vehicle’s year, make, model and key type. Smart keys and certain vehicles may cost more. Your key type, service scope and price are confirmed when preparing your quote.
DEPOSIT & MINIMUM SERVICE-CALL CHARGE
Required non-refundable deposit — $99 + GST
The minimum service-call charge is $99 + GST. This amount is payable before dispatch and is credited toward your total service price, not added on top.
For example, if your agreed service price is $280 + GST, your remaining balance after the $99 + GST deposit is $181 + GST.
If you cancel, find your keys or no longer require the service, the deposit is non-refundable.
Dispatch is confirmed only after the required documents have been verified and advance payment has been received.
Vehicle faults — initial diagnostics included
Wiring, immobilizer, control-module or other vehicle faults may prevent key programming or engine starting.
If key replacement cannot be completed because of a vehicle fault, your prepaid $99 + GST covers the service call and initial diagnostics. This amount is not charged twice. Agreed travel, vehicle unlocking, after-hours, cold-weather and completed additional work charges still apply.
You will receive a PDF diagnostic report by email or a written summary of the findings by message, with photos where relevant. Further diagnostics may be required to establish the exact cause.
Vehicle repairs, parts, replacement modules, and ignition lock repair or replacement are not included in the key replacement price and are quoted separately.
POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL CHARGES
Additional charges apply only when required and are confirmed before dispatch or before the relevant additional work begins.
Vehicle unlocking — $80 + GST
If your vehicle is locked and access is required to perform the key replacement service, unlocking is charged separately.
Key cutting code purchase — from $60 + GST
If the cutting code cannot be obtained from accessible markings or standard lock decoding, a code purchase may be required. The cost depends on the vehicle and is confirmed before purchase.
Lock cylinder removal, disassembly and decoding — $120 + GST
If the cutting code is unavailable and cannot be purchased, the door or ignition lock cylinder may need to be removed and disassembled to determine the key cuts from its internal wafers.
This charge covers cylinder removal, disassembly, decoding, reassembly and refitting. Replacement parts and repairs to damaged components are charged separately with your approval.
If workshop service or a return visit is required, timing and any additional costs are agreed upon in advance.
Code purchase and cylinder disassembly are alternative ways to obtain the key cuts. Both charges are not automatically applied.
Security codes and manufacturer access
A security code used for programming is different from the code used to cut the key blade.
Some vehicles require paid security codes or access through NASTF or the applicable manufacturer service. These costs are quoted separately and approved before purchase.
Second aftermarket key during the same visit
Special prices for an additional key made as part of your all-keys-lost service:
The additional key price includes the key, any required cutting, programming and function testing. This offer applies to two keys made for the same vehicle during the same visit.
Some vehicles require two compatible keys to complete programming. This requirement and the total price will be confirmed when preparing your quote.
After-hours callout — additional $80 + GST
Applies to callouts between 8:00 PM and 7:00 AM, Winnipeg time. Choose a daytime appointment to avoid this surcharge.
Cold-weather service — additional $50 + GST
Applies to outdoor service at actual air temperatures of −20°C or below.
This covers additional time, equipment handling and vehicle power-support requirements in cold conditions.
When both conditions apply, the after-hours and cold-weather surcharges total $130 + GST.
Dead battery assistance — additional $20 + GST
Applies if jump-starting or external battery support is required to perform the service.
When the $50 cold-weather surcharge applies, the separate $20 battery-support charge is waived.
Travel beyond the Perimeter Highway — $2 per kilometre
Distance is calculated using the navigation route, one way from the Perimeter Highway to your vehicle.
The $99 + GST deposit and the agreed travel charge, plus applicable tax, must be paid before departure. These payments are non-refundable and credited to the corresponding charges on your final invoice. Travel is not charged twice.
DOCUMENT VERIFICATION — BEFORE DISPATCH
For key replacement services, please provide:
For privately owned vehicles, the name on your driver’s licence must match the owner’s name on the vehicle documents.
For company-owned vehicles, an authorized representative must provide valid identification, documents showing company ownership and confirmation of their authority to request the service.
Dispatch cannot be confirmed without the required documents and authorization.
